Our History

Best Rome Driver Foundation

Maurizio Lucci, founder and director of Best Rome Driver, began his outstanding career in 1982 when, still not even twenty years old, he became the president of a freight transport company. His years of experience in the transport sector paved the way for his future achievements as the founder of Best Rome Driver. 

Maurizio Lucci quickly established Best Rome Driver as one of the leading touring and limousine service providers in Italy’s tourism industry, welcoming guests from all over the world and organizing day tours and vacation packages for them. Over the years, Best Rome Driver has also developed extensive expertise in the cruise sector, offering tailored shore excursions from major ports such as Livorno, La Spezia, Naples, and Civitavecchia.

2013

Maurizio Lucci’s entrepreneurial spirit and passion for travel led him to found an incoming tour operator in 2013: the Great Italy Tour Agency. Focused on creating all-inclusive luxury packages for families, small groups, and individual travelers throughout Italy, the Great Italy Tour Agency has quickly become one of the premier luxury travel companies in the country. Furthermore, it has partnered for five years with major cruise companies to offer pre- and post-cruise packages to their guests and exclusive shore excursions offers.

With the success of the Great Italy Tour Agency, Maurizio Lucci and his enterprising son, Alessio Lucci, established the Great Italy Events Company, specializing in organizing events such as private occasions, business meetings, weddings, and large group events. Thanks to its partnership with Best Rome Driver and Great Italy Tour, Great Italy Events can offer the best transportation service as well as the best accommodation, tour activities and experiences throughout Italy. This new addition to the Great Italy Group unifies tourism and events, creating a one-stop-shop for anyone looking to plan an unforgettable Italian experience.

2019

In 2019, the father-son duo founded Viaggio con Stile, a tourism company catering to Italian customers. Their commitment to quality service, professionalism, and kindness of their private drivers and customer support team has not gone unnoticed. In fact, even the family of the renowned tenor Andrea Bocelli chose the entire Great Italy Group and the team of Best Rome Driver. This is how the Bocelli FarmHouse, a tour company dedicated to those who want to discover Italy through the places of the great tenor, was born. Maurizio Lucci’s companies are responsible for ensuring that the international guests who come to Italy to attend Andrea Bocelli’s concerts and visit the Bocelli family’s properties, such as the Bocelli 1831 winery in Lajatico and the Alpemare Beach Club in Forte dei Marmi have a unique and unforgettable experience.
