Day 1

  1. This Rome Jubilee 2025 Tour begins as soon as you arrive on your own at the accommodation. Upon arrival, you will have the chance to relax and unwind. In the evening, join your fellow travelers for a welcome aperitif followed by a delightful dinner in a restaurant just next to your hotel!

  2. During dinner you will have the opportunity to meet the other travelers and Great Italy Tour’s team! A perfect introduction to the culinary delights of Italy while preparing for this Holy Week in Rome, the Eternal City.

Day 2

  1. Good morning! After breakfast, the first day in the Eternal city begins with a guided tour of the Vatican Museums, home to of one of the world’s most extensive art collections. Then, you’ll reach the Sistine Chapel, where you’ll have the opportunity to admire the breathtaking ceiling painted by Michelangelo. After, you’ll enter the St Peter’s Basilica with your guide entering through the Holy Door, a central symbol of the Jubilee, and learning about its spiritual and historical importance. After this experience, you’ll reach a local restaurant to relax and enjoy a traditional Roman lunch.

  2. After lunch, the day continues with a guided tour of the magnificent Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls, one of Rome’s four major papal basilicas and an important pilgrimage site. Walk through the Holy Door and admire the breathtaking mosaics and ancient cloisters while enjoying the tranquil atmosphere. The afternoon continues with a visit to San Carlo alle Quattro Fontane, a masterpiece of Baroque architecture designed by Francesco Borromini. Explore this unique church, which features three layers of history: an ancient Roman house, a 4th-century basilica, and the beautiful current church from the 12th century. Marvel at its stunning mosaics, frescoes, and underground ruins.

  2. After the Basilica visit, enjoy a panoramic sightseeing tour of the Eternal City. See iconic landmarks like the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, and Piazza del Popolo. You’ll have time to stop, take photos, and soak in the incredible history of Rome.

Day 5

  1. Buongiorno! This morning, you’ll visit the Archbasilica of St. John Lateran, a basilica of great significance in Rome. As the oldest of the four major papal basilicas, it is revered as the “Mother and Head” of all churches worldwide. With your guide, you’ll admire the impressive entrance and grand façade, then step inside to experience the vast central nave, flanked by towering statues. Just across from the basilica lies the Scala Sancta (Holy Stairs), the sacred steps that Jesus ascended during His trial before Pontius Pilate.

  2. For lunch, you’ll travel outside Rome to enjoy a delightful meal accompanied by fine local wines at a charming restaurant. Afterward, you’ll visit the Papal Palace in Castel Gandolfo and have some free time to explore the picturesque surroundings. Later, you’ll return to your hotel for a delicious dinner, followed by a restful night. Buonanotte!

Day 6

  1. This Sunday morning you’ll have the chance to attend Mass at St. Peter Square, experiencing the spiritual heart of the Vatican. After this moving celebration, the group will head to Tivoli for a delightful lunch at a traditional restaurant, enjoying local flavors in a charming setting.

  2. In the afternoon, you will visit the magnificent Villa d’Este, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its breathtaking fountains, lush gardens, and stunning Renaissance architecture. A perfect blend of spirituality, history, and beauty before returning to Rome in the evening.

Day 7

  1. On the final day of your Holy Week journey, you’ll take a trip outside Rome to the beautiful region of Umbria, heading to Assisi. This historic town is renowned for the Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi, one of the most significant basilicas outside Rome and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With the help of a local guide, you’ll explore the life of Saint Francis and learn about the basilica’s rich history. Be sure to admire the stunning frescoes by Giotto adorning the church.
