Explore this unique church, which features three layers of history: an ancient Roman house, a 4^th-century basilica, and the beautiful current church from the 12^th century. Marvel at its stunning mosaics, frescoes, and underground ruins.

After the Basilica visit, enjoy a panoramic sightseeing tour of the Eternal City. See iconic landmarks like the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, and Piazza del Popolo. You’ll have time to stop, take photos, and soak in the incredible history of Rome.

Buongiorno! This morning, you’ll visit the Archbasilica of St. John Lateran, a basilica of great significance in Rome. As the oldest of the four major papal basilicas, it is revered as the “Mother and Head” of all churches worldwide. With your guide, you’ll admire the impressive entrance and grand façade, then step inside to experience the vast central nave, flanked by towering statues. Just across from the basilica lies the Scala Sancta (Holy Stairs), the sacred steps that Jesus ascended during His trial before Pontius Pilate.

For lunch, you’ll travel outside Rome to enjoy a delightful meal accompanied by fine local wines at a charming restaurant. Afterward, you’ll visit the Papal Palace in Castel Gandolfo and have some free time to explore the picturesque surroundings.
